What are your thoughts about the sustainability of cash as the primary payment method for the future?

“Those who prefer cash use cash. Those who prefer credit and debit use cash. Everyone uses cash.”

With the recent release of The Federal Reserve study titled “Consumer Preferences and the Use of Cash” (goo.gl/m841iE), it has been revealed that cash payments in the U.S. still outnumber debit and credit transactions combined. Despite an increase in alternative forms of payment, legal tender remains the most commonly used form of currency in the world, leaving no doubt that cash is still king. Not to mention that millions of Americans are still unbanked and rely on cash as their sole form of transactional assets.

What are your thoughts about the sustainability of cash as the primary payment method for the future?
